Crib Mobiles Are Great for Decor and Fun for Baby Too!

When you’re looking at decorating your baby’s room, you probably think of almost everything.  Paint, furniture, bedding, toys . . . but did you also think of adding crib mobiles to your baby’s room?  Crib mobiles are both fun for your baby and help them developmentally.  Plus, they come in all sorts of themes and colors so you can find tons of cute mobiles to match almost any decor.

How do crib mobiles help your baby developmentally?  Even a newborn can benefit from a mobile above the crib.  During the first month of development, a baby can see approximately 8-10″ away, but can’t focus on details.  They see movement and can follow an object slowly with their eyes.  Crib mobiles will give your baby something soothing yet stimulating to look at.  The slow movement of crib mobiles will help your baby learn to focus their eyes and follow objects.  Plus crib mobiles can improve your baby’s listening skills if you choose one that has sound.

Once you have the perfect mobile picked out, make sure that you encourage your baby to pay attention to it.  It is never too early to point out colors and shapes to your baby and help them focus on the mobile.  You can even have multiple crib mobiles and change them out to keep your baby interested and stimulated visually.
